State Department Office of Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights
The Office of the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights within the State Department covers various bureaus and offices, including the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor; the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration; and the Office of International Religious Freedom. Under the Trump administration, this office has been home to extremists including Ambassador Sam Brownback, who has used his position for anti-Muslim discrimination, and Senior Advisor Pam Pryor, who has represented the United States at international forums including the Commission on the Status of Women and was influential in granting United Nations delegate status to the anti-abortion, designated hate group C-FAM.
