State Department Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor

Housed within the State Department’s Office of the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights, the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) focuses on issues including democracy, human rights and religious freedom. The bureau is responsible for putting out over 200 country reports each year on human rights practices, which under the Trump administration omitted previously included and critical analysis on reproductive rights.
