Becket Fund for Religious Liberty

The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty is a public interest law firm focused on so-called “religious freedom.” Becket was behind the Supreme Court’s decision to extend religious rights to corporations — enabling them to claim exemptions in covering employees’ birth control care — in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby (2014). More recently, the group has represented groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor, which has fought to roll back the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) birth control coverage mandate.
